Win your morning, win your day…are we right? Kick starting your day on a high will not only put a pep in your step, but you’ll also feel ready to take on anything 😏. Your morning should be about setting the tone for a great day, so we’ve put together some easy habits to get you on the right track to having a stellar day, every day!
1. Sleep tight
We need to take a step back for a minute…or at least 8 hours 😉. It all starts with a good night’s rest! If you’re not getting the rest you need, this can throw off not just your morning, your entire day! The experts say for optimum rest, adults require 8 hours of sleep. This can be tricky when you live a busy life…so here’s some pointers:
- Wind down with a warm bath or read a book to help with sleepiness.
- Turn off the TV and your phone before bed
- Sip on a cup of herbal tea or a hot choccy
- Swap out your alarm from a siren sound to something more chilled…trust us 🙏
2. Buffer time
Waking up shouldn’t mean rolling out of bed and getting ready for work straight away. Set your alarm 30-45 minutes earlier than needed to allow yourself some time to properly wake up, make a coffee and mentally prepare for the day.
3. Feed the soul
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so a healthy breakfast should be at the top of your list! A belly full of delicious and nourishing food, will help you focus and start the day with energy. Plus, if you have some extra time, prep your meals and snacks for the day!
4. Set goals and make a list
There’s one thing more satisfying than being productive and organised…and that’s being productive and organised before 9am 😎. Look at your schedule/calendar to see what kind of day you have ahead so you’re across what needs to be done. Better yet – make a list! Lists help you stay on track and are proven to help productivity. Why would you not?!
5. Move that body 🤸
First thing in the morning, or before going to bed the night before, limber up your body with some simple stretches. Not only will you wake up feeling calm, but your body will also be prepped for whatever is to come for the rest of the day. Desk workers especially can suffer pain and aches, so this can help soothe the body (back pain…be gone!) and mind 😉.
